Automated security tools that support compliance for LabVIEW teams facing evolving security regulations
Walnut Creek, CA – April 22, 2026 – JKI has introduced the JKI Security Suite, a solution designed to provide security analysis that supports compliance for LabVIEW-based applications. The platform will be demonstrated at NI Connect 2026 and is intended to support engineering teams managing software risk across the development lifecycle.
“Test teams are being forced to rethink their development workflows in response to growing security demands. Because LabVIEW is central to how many of these teams operate, access to robust security tools is essential for developing and documenting secure, trustworthy code.”
Cybersecurity requirements are expanding rapidly across regulated industries. In the United States, federal frameworks such as NIST 800-53 explicitly require the use of static code analysis tools to identify common software flaws, and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework is introducing enforceable security requirements for defense contractors. In Europe, the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is establishing new obligations for software security and vulnerability reporting, with initial requirements taking effect from September 2026. Together, these regulations are creating new operational demands for engineering teams building and maintaining LabVIEW based systems.
While standard security tools which do Static Application Security Test (SAST) and Software Composition Analysis (SCA) exist for text-based programming languages, no comparable solution has been available for LabVIEW, until now. Without appropriate tooling, organizations face significant challenges: manual security reviews are time-consuming, inconsistent, and often miss security weaknesses specific to visual programming environments. For defense organizations, the absence of a LabVIEW SAST tool can jeopardize Authorization to Operate (ATO) for classified work. Additionally, getting visibility into the software supply chain for LabVIEW applications (software dependencies in test frameworks, such as instrument drivers, third-party packages, and open source components) and tracking disclosed vulnerabilities for those components is also a complex and time-consuming manual process.
The JKI Security Suite has been developed to address these challenges by integrating automated security analysis into existing development workflows. The platform includes a static application security test (SAST) tool which analyzes source code to identify potential security weaknesses, classifies findings against the MITRE CWE framework, and provides remediation guidance, enabling teams to find and fix issues before deployment.
The suite also generates software bills of materials (SBOMs) to provide visibility into software dependencies and vulnerabilities, supporting risk assessment and remediation activities throughout development and deployment.

The JKI Security Suite aligns with widely adopted industry standards and frameworks, including NIST, MITRE CWE, the EU Cyber Resilience Act, NASA software standards, and ISO 9001, supporting organizations operating in regulated environments.
It is designed for integration into modern engineering workflows , and provides a rich command line interface for integration into automated scanning within CI/CD pipelines enabling automated security validation as part of the software development lifecycle.
The platform supports organizations developing mission-critical systems, including aerospace test and validation platforms, automation systems, and other high-reliability applications.
“The NIST Risk Management Framework requires static analysis for vulnerabilities. To get Authorization to Operate for classified work, this (or a rigorous alternative) must be done. This is the first time we’ve seen a toolset that looks promising for LabVIEW.”

“Over the past 25 years, JKI has continuously refined its LabVIEW development practices with a strong focus on security and reliability. Through our early access program, we have worked closely with customers to shape the JKI Security Suite into a solution that helps teams identify risks earlier and strengthen their development processes. We are excited by the early feedback and the impact it is already having.”
